>From Amherst County Deed Book H, pg 53 This Indenture made this 24th day of June 1796 Between Archelus Mitchell of the one part & Bowlin Mitchell of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Archelus Mitchell for and in Consideration of the sum of Five pounds Current Money to him in hand by the said Bolin Mitchell. The receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge hath bargained & Sold and by these presents doth bargain sell confirm and deliver unto the said Bowlin Mitchell one certain Tract or parcel of land lying & being the County of Amherst on John Creek Containing by Estimation ninety five acres be the Same more or less and bounded as followeth (to wit). Beginning at a Poplar at or near the mouth of Johns Creek, on John B Trent Line thence along his line to the line of Henry Landon Davis thence along of Thomas Mitchell thence along his line to thine of Micajah Goodwin thence along his line to Johns Creek, thence down the said with (?) Wanders(?) to the first Station to have & to hold the said bargained premis! es with the Reversion & Reversions Remainder and Remainders and every part and parcel therof unto him the said Bowlin Mitchell and his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Archelus Mitchell doth for himself his heirs & c the above granted land and premises warrent and force or Defend unto the said Bowlin Mitchell and his heirs and assigns forever. In Witness whereof the said Archelus Mitchell hath hereunto set his hand & seal the day and date above written.
