Posted on: Amherst County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Va/Amherst/10803 Surname: Parr, Vaughan, Green ------------------------- My great uncle, Eugene Neville Vaughan, is recorded in the Amherst Co marriage register #3 (1870-1890)for a marriage license 15 Aug 1884 to Sallie F. Parr, age 21, b. Amherst Co., dau of Thomas W. and S. F. Parr. In talking with family members many years ago, no one seemed to know anything about this. Whether the marriage took place or not is unknown. In fact much about my great uncle is unknown as family members were reluctant to even discuss him. Eugene was in Corpus Christi, TX in the very early 1900's, perhaps around 1905. He also lived in Arkansas, whereabouts unknown. It's believed he married a woman whose name was Green!!! That family was in Kentucky--where, unknown. Eugene died in Gulfport, MS in 1927. The birth certificate states that next of kin was unknown. The birth certificate was signed by his brother, who was a doctor. The operative word seems to be unknown. This may not be of any help to you other than the marriage intent and a possible place in Texas to search. If by any chance you do come across anything on the Parr-Vaughan possible marriage, please post the information or email me.
