My gr gr grandfather, James C. Proffitt married Sally Ann Dennis in Nelson Co. Apr. 29, 1830, and Francis West was the security. The Proffitt family moved to Amherst Co. sometime between 1850 and 1860. I have not been able to determine the connection between the 2 families. Thank you for any help you can give. Yvonne
