Dear Frank, This is in reply to your email and for convenience is being sent to the Wright, Amherst, and Hanover mailing lists as well. My records list your William Wright as William Wright (Hanover County Tailor) and married to _____ Talley. I do not have information on a Lafayette Wright as his father. William had possibly six children, one of whom was Henry Talley Wright. Henry Talley Wright was born Feb 27, 1817, at Hanover County, Virginia, married Nancy Jane Smoot on Oct 17, 1842, at Amherst County, Virginia, resided at Amherst County, Virginia, was a carpenter, died on March 28, 1914, and was buried at Mount Pleasant Church, Amherst County, Virginia. Nancy Jane (Smoot) Wright was born on April 1, 1820 or c. 1822 at Virginia died on Dec 19, 1900, at Faber, Nelson County, Virginia, and was buried at Rock Springs Church. They had the following children: 1. John James Wright, born on Oct 8, 1842, at Amherst County, Virginia, 2. Lucy A. (Wright) Stinnett, born in about 1845 or 1846 at Amherst County, Virginia, 3. William H. Wright, born in about 1846 at Virginia, 4. George W. Wright, born in about 1848 at Virginia, 5. Albert T. Wright, born in about 1853 at Amherst County, Virginia, 6. Thomas J.Wright, born in about 1858 at Amherst County, Virginia, 7. Benjamin W. Wright, born in about 1862 at Amherst County, Virginia, 8. Elizabeth (Wright) Whitten, born in about 1863 at Amherst County, Virginia. I would be happy to exchange information with other interested researchers. Robert N. From: The Genealogy Pages <GenPages-owner@listbot.com> The Genealogy Pages - http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~geneal/geneal.html#top Use the Surname Index to look at all the surnames in the files... too many to post!!! I have found a better way to handle the database, and hope the results are far more effective. After uploading nearly 6000 files that make up the Surname Index portion of the site, each individual now has their own page with links to all children, parents, and grandparents. There is a 4 generation display on each page, and several with pictures. I will be adding to this. Also, the Images index has had a facelift. I am adding a thumbnails page, but that is under construction still. The Medieval Page is up, under links when you scroll down the main page, or directly here:http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~geneal/medieval_links.html#top Still looking for more links... so please let me know if you come accross something interesting. We've had a "boom" in Tannehill researchers of late, so there are sevear additional researchers listed on the Tannehill SRC page... anyone looking for connections should stop by to see the new researchers. Please feel free to let me know what you think of the site... I have a form for comments, or email me directly. I appreciate all of the input that allows me to create better site features. The search engine is being updated as well, so in a day or so, when the crawl is finished, we will be up to speed. Warm regards... The Pedlar River is located in that area as well -- used to be a CCC (civilian conservation corps) camp in the area where people would camp out during the fishing seasons. Take care, Debbie
This is in response to kkelley. ><kkelley933@aol.com> <snip> > HENDERSON, HENDRIX, HORN, HOWELL, JACKSON, JOBE, KIMMEL, I'm researching HENDRICK (sometimes spelled with an x). Moses Herbert Hendrick was born 1798 in Appomattox Court House, Appomattox Co, VA and died April 15, 1880. One of his daughters, Amanda, was married to James Francis Page who was born in Amherst Co in 1838. Do you have anything on these folks? Do you have any HOWELLs who ended up in Florida? My husband's family has Edward C. Howell who married Georgia Anna Clanton. Their children were all born in Madison Co, FL, from 1876 to 1886 and they all died in Tampa, FL. We don't have anything before Edward so we don't have any idea where they came from. Thanks for any help, Donna Howell
