    2. Ann Wilmer
    3. Hi folks, I'm new to the list. I'm interested in Wilmers (var. Wilmore, Willmer) and affiliated families. Here is my line as far as I know it. James Wilmore | Reuben Wilmore* = Sarah (Sally) Stinnett* | __________________________________ | | Robert* = Sarah North William* = Frances Leah Nuchols (Knuckles) | | The Rev. Edward Christian Willmer* = Annie Byrd Willmer* | Vaughn Edward Wilmer* | Ann Wilmer * indicates that I can place them in Amherst Co. VA through marriage bonds or something else that can be documented. My grandfather, E.C. Wilmer died in 1945, before I was born in 1952 but I knew my grandmother. I still have cousins living in the area. The closest relatives are mostly in Rockbridge Co. but there are others scattered around, including some I haven't met yet. I have more information (and photos) including some that needs correcting on my webpage: <http://www.intercom.net/user/wilmer>. Click on my genealogy page. I look forward to hearing from cousins. I don't know much about Stinnetts and nothing about the Nuchols (Knuckles?) or North families. Ann Wilmer

    3. Posted on: Amherst County Queries Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Va/Amherst?read=429 Surname: Rucker, Phillips, McDaniel ------------------------- I knew I should have waited ;-) In correspondence with Jeannie Robinson, President of The Rucker Family Society, granddaughter of Sudie Wood, and who is revising Wood's book, I received the following information from Jeannie today: "Whitley told us before she died that she was wrong about John [Rucker] marrying Susannah Phillips. Wood was only guessing about Susannah Coghill [Wood had only suggested the possibility of Susannah Coghill being John Rucker's wife, Susannah]. Susannah Coghill married someone else. Susannah Rucker never remarried and lived to the old age of about 90. We don't know her maiden name and may never know it." So, while the link to the Rucker lineage is broken, the one to our McDaniel ancestor is still a viable possibility.
