His son James Bartlett Goodwin married Mildred POWELL, daughter of William Cowper Powell and Betsy (Elizabeth) MARTIN, all of Amherst CO, as was Betsy's father James Martin. I seek information about all of these people, especially Francis Goodwin's parents. I have information to share regarding James Goodwin's children born 1831-1838.

I have a James Hilliard LAWHORNE b.Aug 1832 d.1896 Amherst Co. He married Isabelle CLEMENTS Abt1851. I have the death certificate of their son Marcellus LAWHORNE and these are in fact their names. Many researchers have Isabelle HARTLESS or even HERTESS as James' wife's name. No one will answer me on where they got this HARTLESS name. I cannot find her on the Census records. Do you know her? If anyone else reads this post, There are so many Isabelle/Isabella Clements on the 1850 Census, I cannot establish which is mine......Most gracious for any help.

Lawrence baptized a daughter Martha by the Rev. John Craig of Tinkling Springs. He also appears on deeds and indentures along with William Small. William posted bond on marriage licenses of some of his alleged children in Amherst in the early 1800's.
