Elias' parents were Robert and Mary Stewart. Elias and Rebecca had 13 children,nine of whom moved with the family to Boone Co. WVa in the 1860s. I am at the "brick wall" with my inquiries. He was the brother of William Lackey (d 1756 Lancaster PA who married Rebeckah). Children of John SR and Hannah were Adam (wife unknown, died 1789 Henry VA), John JR (d 1793 Patrick VA, wife unknown), James (m. Mary Woods and died Blount TN 1800), Samuel (m Dorcas Alexander, d Madison KY 1830), Andrew (wife unknown, d KY), Jean (m Michael Woods d ca 1765 VA), Hannah (d bef 1790 VA, m Gabriel Alexander), and William (m Eve Morrison, d 1772 Amherst VA).     3. John Mason and William D. Mason were residing in Amherst Co. VA and paying personal property taxes in 1811 and 1812. William D. Mason married Susan Cooksey, daughter of Miles Cooksey, on March 10, 1810 in Amherst County. Is anyone researching John and William D. Mason and if so, was John the father of William Mason? By the early part of the 20th century, the Vaughan males had all moved from Nelson and Amherst Cos., mostly to Missouri and Texas.
