You may have recieved a e-mail from me not long go. If you check the map, my father was born not too far from Tenn., in Cullman Co., Ala.. About 1910, my grandfather moved the family to the Navarro Co., Tx area near two of his brothers. Do you have a copy of Thomas Christian II (1736)will? I have Thomas's & Robert's, but would like to see what else, you have. Do you have anything on Marie Bryant's family? Maries mother was a Clara/Clare/Clark (???) Trabue (1st. was Anthony Trabue Jr.), who married second James Bryant Sr (have his will). Her first name has been listed as Clark, Clara or Clare. But no maiden name, unless it could be Clark. The jury is still out on her. It has been listed that the father of Thomas II (Rebecca New) had married a Rebecca Stith, some say yes and others say no. Let me hear from you again. John is a direct ancestor of our Georgia cousins. He married Mary Bryant (aka Marie Brian, Huegenot) ca1764 in Albemarle/Powhatan, VA. They produced 10 children, all born in Amherst County, VA. In 1800 John and his family relocated to Georgia where John obtained land. His children were named: John, James (who married a Lucy Bradley), Robert Bryant, Drury, Abda, Gabriel, Reuben, Mary, Rufus and Nancy. John died ca1805. I have a copy of Robert's will and other information if you would like.

Posted on: Amherst County Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Va/Amherst/10761 Surname: LUTTRELL ------------------------- Bette, I'm researching Luttrell's but this isn't my direct line. I had the information below in my database (also not proven). Have you checked in Betetourt Co., VA for a Will for Richard Jr. around 1840? It might list his children's names. Or a deed where Richard might have given/sold land to Robert? If you can show your Robert living on a piece of land formerly owned by Richard, Jr., that would most probably be the closest proof you'll be able to find. I also know that on later relatives (after 1850), I was able to write to the churches and they had baptism data of children listing their parents. But I don't know if there would be much available for 1804 when Robert was born. Good Luck, Marcine Lohman (Amelung) celticlady@brick.net Richard Luttrell, Jr. was born Bet. 1761 - 1763 in Westmoreland County, Virginia, and died September 03, 1840 in Betetourt County, Virginia. Posted on: Amherst County Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Va/Amherst/10760 Surname: BURNETT, LUTTRELL ------------------------- Hi. All that I have I've gotten off the internet so none of it is confirmed as correct but much of it makes sense. I've seen the family listed for two locations, Henry Co., VA and Talbot Co. VA? or MD. I haven't looked yet to see if there is a Talbot Co. in Virginia or not but I would think it is more likely to be Virginia. I've also seen Moses Burnett listed as a son of Jeremiah and in another place as a son of Charley Burnett. Charley being a brother to Jeremiah. I've included the web pages of two places where I've gleened most of my information. Just so you know, I'm really not actively researching the BURNETT line, I'm interested in the LUTTRELL line and just want to find proof that Stacy Burnett was Moses daughter. It seems likely but I want the proof. She married Silas LUTTRELL and Moses put up the security payment on the marriage bond. In answer to your question, I show Moses mother to be Elizabeth CLAYBROOK, Jeremiah's second wife. Also it is rumored that Moses went to Missouri where he died in 1836. I found a Moses Burnett in Randolph Co., MO who married a Sarah Wright. I think this would be a son rather than the father but that is only my opinion. Any help you can offer on Moses and Stacy Burnett is greatly appreciated. Posted on: Amherst County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Va/Amherst/10754 Surname: PHELPS, PECK, DUNKIN, CHAMBERLAIN, WATKINS, CONNER ------------------------- Your John Dunkin PECK interests me. I have two PHELPS sisters, both born after 1750 in Cumberland or Lunenburg Co., VA. They are the d/o Samuel PHELPS, who died in 1790 in Cumberland Co., VA. and his wife, Elizabeth CHAMBERLAIN. Mary Ann PHELPS married a PECK. In 1790 she inherited land from her father in Mecklenburg County, VA. (Previously CHAMBERLAIN land.) Elizabeth PHELPS married a DUNKIN and in 1790, Elizabeth DUNKIN inherited land from her father, Samuel, next to Charles CANNON (the county was not specified so it might have been in Cumberland Co., VA). It is very possible that one of Elizabeth PHELPS DUNKIN's daughters or granddaughters married a cousin,... one of Mary Ann PHELPS PECK's sons or grandsons. Thus you John Dunkin PECK. On 1 Jan. 1790, in Cumberland Co., VA - Samuel PHELPS and his daughter, Mary Ann PECK/PEAK signed for the marriage of Benjamin CONNER and Elizabeth ANDERSON. Testors: Mary CHAMBERLIN (Samuel's mother-in -law), and Samuel's daughter, Peggy WATKINS. I can't figure out how CONNER and ANDERSON fit in. ??? Please e-mail me and we can compare names of friends and acquaintances and locations in VA and KY and see if we can make a connection.
Bette I cannot help you on the Luttrell surname, but I do have a question on the Hambleton. What data do you have on Francis Hambleton? My ggggrandfather Schuyler Hamilton (Hambleton) was born in Amherst CO in 1887. We believe his father was James Hamilton b Orange Co 1857 relocated to Amherst between 1865-1870. I have quite a bit of data on James but am still searching for his parents and proof of birth of Schuyler. My current research is attempting to identify relationship to Luke Hambleton from Amherst Co. Luke sold property to James in 1882 and Luke appears to have died around 1887 - about the same time James left Amherst Co. I would like to build as complete a picture as possible of all the Hamilton/Hambleton families in Amherst at this time period.
