    1. [VAAMHERS] Recording Family Cemeteries at the Courthouse
    2. Good Morning All Is there anyone on the list who has experience in recording the legal property definition for a family cemetery to protect it from encroachment by developers etc.? I believe there is a specific statute in the law that accomodates this and I would like to ensure that our cemetery has a fighting chance when we aren't there to protect it. Doug

    2. Do you have any Tomlin's who married into the Waller line in Spotsylvania or Caroline Co? My great grandmother was named Dorothy Tomlin Waller which makes me suspect that the name Tomlin was an ancestor? 2. Howdy yourself. We met before and determined we were related from the Massie, Withers,Campbell ,Bowling and on and on. Now I do have a question. I am hunting for the Martin family from Martinsville. I need some information on a Rebecca Loula Richardson. Her parents were John Minter Richardson and Rebecca McGee Martin. Rebecca was Miss Virginia in the year 1956 I believe (You're too young to remember that probably) but you have a wealth of information as I read your VAAMHERS all the time. There used to be a Lillie Martin who wrote in also, and she had said we were kin also but haven't seen anything from her for a while. I am looking for the birth and death dates for the parents and where they are buried. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot for any help. I'm a Lynchburger that has been transplanted. I'm not sure when I will be back up that way. Henry Clay Camden was the nephew of my 2nd great grandmother Rachel S. Camden who married Dr. William Wright. They lived on the Piney River between Woodson and Lowesville. Unfortunately their graves have been plowed over. Could you give me the death dates for Henry Clay Camden and his wife? Thanks, Sylvia

    2. It is a tragedy and miscarriage of justice, but this is the wrong place to hold a discussion or debate on drunk driving or the criminal justice system. For the courtesy of our list subscribers, please observe the purpose of this list, which is discussion of the history and genealogy of Amherst County, Virginia. I am generally flexible on straying here and there, unless it threatens to overtake the message traffic. However, starting up debate on a controversial non-related topic is no doubt going to to that. 1. [VAAMHERS] YES, I KNOW< BUT IF THIS CONTINUES OUR RESEARCH WILL BE AT THE CEMETERY
    2. RELATED: Police Beat LYNCHBURG - A man charged with driving under the influence after a Sunday night automobile wreck that injured five people has at least two drunken-driving convictions, court records show.Corey Dennis Peters, 26, of Big Island in Bedford County has nearly two dozen convictions on traffic offenses in Bedford County and Lynchburg. Virginia State Police allege Peters was driving a 1979 Chevrolet pickup truck when it struck a minivan head-on on Waterlick Road in Bedford County about 8:30 p.m. Sunday. In the 2003 Toyota minivan were Andrew Kern "Andy" Barrick, 40; his wife, Lin da; their 15-year-old daughter, Jennifer; and 11-year-old son, Josh, police said. They were coming home from Thomas Road Baptist Church when the crash occurred. All five were taken to area hospitals. Andy Barrick, Liberty University's director of alumni affairs, was listed in fair condition yesterday and Linda Barrick was in stable condition. Peters was in serious condition. The children's conditions were not disclosed.   Just who is showing Bad judgment here? Seems that there is enough violations to have this unguided Missal off of the roads of Virginia. Yes, I know that the Judge was not Drinking & Driving, Nor would Mr. Peters have been IF someone else had done their job.     This could have prevented, IF this driver would have Committed to look through BARS instead of being permitted to look through a Windshield. I understand that he may have the misfortune, OF being Paralyzed. WHAT an awful price to pay, when looking through BARS would have prevented that. PLEASE THINK & Then Comment.
