Hi all, I am working on the family of Henry WHITE & Nancy STEPHENS and I would love to swap information with anyone else working on this line. Henry & Nancy were married in Bedford Co, VA on 12 Oct 1835 and moved to the Pedlar Dist. of Amherst Co, VA between 1850 and 1860. They were still in Amherst in 1880 but I am stuck at that point. Known children were James E. (b. abt 1836), Mildred E. (b. abt 1837), William S. (b. abt 1839), Margaret M. (b. abt 1841), John G. (b. abt 1843), Frances J. (b. abt 1849), Joseph W. (b. abt 1852), Emma B. (b. abt 1854) & Charles Jesse (b. abt 1859). I have marriages & children only for James E. & Joseph W. Norman Runyon

I cannot find him in the 1850 or 1860 Censuses, but he enlisted in the 2nd Virginia Cavalry in 1861 at Amherst Court House and died 1863-1864. AT 11 Years old in 1937 I worked at Long Hill Orchard Wher Mr, Burford was the manager, I made 10 cents per hour, My Father Got 15cents per Hour Picking Apples, very Often THE largest Apples were On a Limb Kinder way up & out on the limbs Mr Burford would hold a Ladder for me as i was lighter than the Grown men, We would Get THE Largest apples.
