    3. Funny that, as I joined this list, within a couple of minutes afterward, I found his death certificate. Percy (1911-1969). He had been imprisoned for the killing of his wife. He shot her in the face. Does anyone have access to any newspaper article of the time? Thanks, Vince Summers

Could Benjamin have been Dorcas' brother or first cousin? More work to do here. I am new to Virginia research. Fortunately I work in downtown Richmond and have easy access to the state library. Author: bengoshi1 Surnames: Burley Bond Classification: queries Message Board: [2]Click here Message Board Post: Hi all, I am very curious about this line. My wife descends from Tilman (Tilghman) Burley (Born Bet. 1789-1796 in Virginia and died 11 Jan 1863 in Henrico county) and Sarah Bond. I have a good deal of information on them. I have not seen any source material for him being the son of Garland but I would welcome it. The rumor in my wife's family was that they were American Indian, but genetic testing would seem to counter that. I also had no indication Tilman was from Amherst, but in searching him, came across a Thomas Tilman and a John Bond on the same page in Amherst. I had also seen this: http://nativeamericansofdelawarestate.com/Plecker.htm a transcribed copy of a 1943 official bulletin from Dr. Plecker to Virginia county officials which includes a "watchlist" of African Americans pretending to be Indian to avoid certain racial laws, and the Burleys of Amherst on his list. I'm curious if anyone has linked Tilman to Garland with source info, and whether anyone has more details regarding whether they were white, Monacan or other Indian or African American? Thanks, Neil Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [VAAMHERS] Video & Facebook live of the Genealogy panel discussion at the Bedford Museum & Genealogical Library on August 12
    2. Jennifer Thomson
    3. There have been requests for handouts, etc from the genealogy panel discussion. I do not believe that can be possible. However, we can tape it and have that video available on our website as soon as we can. We can also "Facebook live" it from our facebook page. If possible I recommend that if you want to be a part of it, that you like the Bedford Museum and Genealogical Library's Facebook page and we can add as many questions as we can as we go along. -- Thank you, Jennifer Thomson Genealogical Librarian Children's Educational Director Bedford Museum & Genealogical Library 201 E. If so, please join the Bedford Museum and Genealogical Library, Jones Memorial Library, The Virginia Room at the Roanoke Public Library, and the Bedford County Courthouse for a Genealogical Panel Discussion on Saturday August 12, at 1:30 PM at the Bedford Musuem and Genealogical Library. The panel discussion will be held on the 3rd floor and there is an elevator and plenty of parking available. Check with the Amherst Museum, they have a website and have the greatest history of that county. -----Original Message----- From: VAAMHERS [mailto:vaamhers-bounces+brewerwr=cox.net@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of A. Need help desperately to find origins of 3rd great grandfather William Perry b. in Russell Co, VA but the trail is cold before that and think he was child of George and Susanna.
