Streat concerning the burial location of James Henry Barnes, my great-great-grandfather. My great-grandfather was Richard Irving Barnes, brother of Robert Royall Barnes, and son of James Henry Barnes. My info on James Henry Barnes: born, Feb. 7, 1816; married Ann Eliza Bailey in Amelia Courthouse on Dec. 6, 1866 (Marriages, Amelia Co., VA, 1853-1918, Page 15), his second marriage; died, April 13, 1897. James Henry Barnes appears in the 1880 Federal Census with Ann E. and four sons, Willie W., Henry W., Robert R., and Richard I. On this same census he lists his place of birth as North Carolina. On his marriage license he lists his place of birth as Brunswick. I did'nt know for sure if he meant Brunswick, VA. or Brunswick, NC. Hopefully, you have cleared up his place of birth issue that I have had. I would enjoy hearing more stories of the Barnes family in Amelia County, Virginia. I look forward to ! hearing from you.
