My GG Grandfather had an older brother whose name was Basil Jefferson. He was born February 27, 1797, in Amelia County, he grew up and married in North Carolina and spent most of his adult life in Georgia where he is buried. He left many descendants there. If this is the same person you are seeking, you and I are some kind of cousins and we can and will be glad to shower you with information concerning our common ancestors. Yes, there were other Jeffersons in Amelia County at the time Basil was born...John Garland Jefferson for one and many descendants from that branch still live there as well as Texas.
