Posted on: Amelia County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Va/Amelia/613 Surname: TALLEY ------------------------- I am seeking information on an Elkanah TALLEY, born about 1710 in England, who settled in Virginia. I have been told to do some of my research in Amelia County. I am curious as to if he may have been my GGGGG Grandfather. My "known" line is: 1. Nicholas TALLEY b. abt. 1729 d. April 1795 in Guilford Co., NC. Wife; Mary (?) My GGGG Grandparents. 2. John TALLEY b. abt. 1764 in NC., no date of death found as of yet. Wife; Janey EAKES My GGG Grandparents. 3. Obediah D. TALLEY b. July 29, 1805 in Guilford Co., NC., d. 1872 in Allen Co., KY. Wives; Sarah PARKER TALLEY, b. 1808 in NC., d. 1844-believed during childbirth, second wife; Mary M. EPLING. Obediah and Sarah were my GG Grandparents. 4. Andrew Jackson TALLEY b. 1835 in TN., d. 1882 in Allen Co., KY. Wife; Pernecia (?) TALLEY. My G Grandparents. 5. William David TALLEY b. July 17, 1876 d. Dec. 31, 1945 in Mo. Wife; Mary Ida KELSEY b. Oct. 19, 1876 d. June 23, 1945 in Mo. My Grandparents. I have viewed records that show that three TALLEY men came over from England....Elkanah, William and Nicholas. Elkanah was born in 1710, and William was born in 1730. Since MY Nicholas was born abt. 1729, I am wondering if My Nicholas could have been the one above. Any information on Elkanah, Nicholas and John TALLEY would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Bonnie TALLEY Polston bkp77@hotmail.com
