    3. Is there anyone out there that can tell me what happened to Robert POLLARD. He was listed in the 1840 Amelia Co.,VA census and that was the last time he was heard from. His wife Mahala(Chapman)POLLARD showed up with some of her children in the 1850 Adair Co.,KY census, but no Robert. It would be nice if I could find some trace of him, he was my gggrandpa. He was patented land in Amelia Co in 1737 about 232 acres. There are numerous deeds and titheable lists which mention him and Joseph, his son, and---Francis, his son, Joseph's brother. Francis was about 7 years older than Joseph and there may have been a daughter, also. I found the titheable lists in "The Southside Virginian" a genealogical publication--October 1982 Volume 1 No 1, April 1990 Volume 8 No 2 and July-September 1995 Volume 13 No 3. The lists name the head of household and any sons between 16 and 21 and give the approx. location of the family's land. When the sons turned 21 years of age they were listed separately. He was last seen in the Lawrence Co., KY 1950 census. He was 48 years old at the time and had no spouse listed. He children were Achilles age 21, Jeferson age 19, Isaac age 17, Lucinda age 15, Mahala age 13 and Sarah Ann age 11. My great great grandfather is Isaac he was born in 1833 in Lawrence Co., Ky his son James Alfred Fannin is my grandfather and his son Clyde is my father.

There was a register where people had been there to research family names. Luther Robertson from Berkely Springs, West Virginia in 1993. Thomas W. Howard 353 N Mooreland RD. Richmond VA. 23229 in 1997 for Robertson and John R and Martha Foulkes 2405 S Ward Carathersville, Mo. 63830 for Foulkes and Robertson family in 1988. There at the court house was the 1850 census published by Emma Robertson Matheny at 1718 Glenview road Richmond, Virginia dated 2/22/67. On page 12 was the listing for David G. Robertson 34 Overseer born in Amelia, Martha W. 33 wife born in Chesterfield. Mary Susan 6 born in Chesterfield, Martha E. 5 born in Chesterfield, William D. 2 born in Nottoway, Alexander 1 born in Nottoway. We also visited ST. Mark Methodist Church on Hungrytown road and found the Graves of many early 1800`s Robertson`s. Martha W. Robertson wife of David G 4/18/1818, David O. Robertson born 1854 Thomas Robertson born1861 Permelia A. Robertson born 1828 Anner T. Robertson born 1851 America Robertson born 1860`s The cemetary was well Kept and the Church was established in 1832. I was told that pre civil war birth records were in the Nottoway Library. though I was not able to view them. I was only there about 2.5 hours and was thankful for the help I received in the Clerk`s office. I can`t confirm that william D. Robertson is my Greatgrandfather who moved to Lexington Mississippi after the civil war but his age is the right period and he was the only William D. in the 1850 Census. I continue my search for William Daniel Robertson. If anyone has any information please post it at this site so there will be a permanent record. Thank You, Clyde
