I am curious if these 2 names appear in your Vaughan family tree or records. Elizabeth Morgan married a Vaughan around 1830-40 and he must have died, but they had a child named Travis, with her on the 1850 census in Nottoway Co. Posted on: Amelia County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Va/Amelia/480 Surname: Patrick Mullen, John Mullins, William Mullins, Jeremiah Walker, Richard Dennis, James Oliver, Richard Talley, John Tucker, William Hill, William Mitchell ------------------------- I am interested in the location of "the Church Road" which is listed in several of the deeds I am researching (Jeremiah Walker, Patrick Mullen, etc.). I cannot find it on modern maps. It is generally in the area between Deep Creek and West Creek, I think. Any help would be appreciated. Also, any help with information on Patrick, John or William Mullins in the early-mid 1700's would also be helpful. I think there may have been several lines in the county simultaneously. My link is to Pittsylvania County, VA (Dennis Mullins). Jeremiah Walker was also there about the same time as my Dennis Mullins. Thanks for any help!! Madeline Van Hoose
I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you who responded to my earlier apology regarding the Archives. You have all been SO supportive!!! It really means alot to me. I would have preferred to answer you all individually, but there were so MANY responses!!! I did want to answer a couple of questions that I received though. Yes, I do take care of the archives on a volunteer basis, and I continually stretch myself to take care of as many counties as I can because I, like you, want to make sure that new files do continue to be uploaded and that the counties are cared for. Sometimes I have the time & energy to do a fantastic job updating the pages on a timely basis, and sometimes, I just don't have what it takes. But all in all, I love taking care of the Archives and watching them grow. I think it's a wonderful way to volunteer my time & hope I'll be able to continue to do so for a very long time. I have completed the uploads for July, minus a couple of small changes that need to be made and also minus the scanned documents. My next goal is to complete those & then I'll move on to the new files received in August. Then I will send notification to the individual county lists for all the new files uploaded during July & August. After that, I will start work on organizing some new counties that I have adopted. Once those pages are updated, I'll subscribe to the mailing lists for those counties & notify the folks there that the counties now have a new archivist who will TRY to post new files on a timely basis :) I'm sure those folks will be happy as I don't believe those counties have had anything new posted in quite some time. Once again, thanks so much for your support and all your kind words!!! It's good to know that there are real people out there (and nice ones too!) that are benefiting from my time & effort. Thanks again, you're the best!!!
