We have not found any proof of his wife's maiden name either but would like to find proof of same. We are descendant through Laughlin's son John and then through John's son William. Laughlin also had sons George, Thomas and James. We have not found daughters but believe he probably had some. Are you a descendant of John and Rion Flinn? Keep in touch Mildred and Irvin

    3. Hi Grace, Just wanted to remind you, and everyone else, that we have "1790/1800" Amelia County Tax list images online at our website. Here's what we find: 1790 Personal Property: Booker - 16 Chapman - 5 Cobbs - 2 Deaton - 1 Dunnavant - 7 Hurt - 2 League - 3 Morris - 6 Powers - 0 Thompson - 5 Wingo - 5 1791 Land: Booker - 12 Chapman - 2 Cobbs - 1 Deaton - 1 Dunnavant - 5 Hurt - 1 League - 2 Morris - 4 Powers - 0 Thompson - 2 Wingo - 3 1800 Personal Property: Booker - 10 Chapman - 3 Cobbs - 3 Deaton - 4 Dunnavant - 7 Hurt - 1 League - 1 Morris - 9 Powers - 0 Thompson - 2 Wingo - 3 We realize that some of these lists may not be the easiest to read. It's best to save them to your hard disk and print them from an image editor. Maybe try to enhance them. Also it would be easier if we had the indexes all finished, but we don't yet. Anyway, please remember to include our website when you search for those long lost relatives. 1. [VAAMELIA-L] Justinian Chasteen Hood
    2. Dawnene B Young
    3. STILL searching for ancestors of Justinian/Chasteen Hood (spelling varied depending on the record) who was born in VA in abt 1800, and migrated to Caldwell County, KY in 1827-28. He lived in the Shady Grove area of Caldwell and Crittenden Counties, KY -- his farm was in Caldwell County until 1830's, and then was listed in the Crittenden county records. He married Charity Land, daughter of Henry Land, of Caldwell County. In the early Caldwell County tax records, there is a De Allamon Hood, and a D. Allrow Hood listed (same person). Could this be Chasteen's father? Also coming to live near Chasteen Hood was Hallie Pleasant Hood, who married Woodley Talley in Amelia County, VA in 1816. Halley was listed as the orphan of Patsy Hood of Amelia County, in 1816. Was she Chasteen's sister? Her descendants called him "Uncle Teeney." Names of children in both families of Hallie and Chasteen: James, Mary, Martha, William, Pleasant, Chastine/Chasteen, Ridley, Riley, and Gardner. Any help appreciated. Thanks. Dawnene Young
