Mike - You stated you didn't know the birth place of James H. Shepherd b 1781? I don't know if this will help but I have William Shepherd b. 1798 m. Isabella Woodward 06 Sept 1827 in Waltham, Middlesex Co., VA, issue: Richard Henry Shepherd b ca 1830. Only reason I bring this to your attention is because the Woodward family had lots of ties to the Albemarle area during that time period. Patti
