Hi Folks - I've just subscribed with a goal of helping a friend begin some on site genealogical research in Albemarle County. I sure would appreciate any further information or possible leads to pass on about the following. Any possible connect will be appreciated. 1. John Fitz who died in 1893 and is buried at Aspen Hill which was his homeplace in Keswick. Also buried there is W.W. Fitz, son of John. Would appreciate any lead as to location or history on Aspen Hill or cemetery at Keswick. 2. John Fitz, grandfather of above mentioned John, was born, lived and died at the top of Fitz's Mountain (1893) as part of the Clover Fields estate. A Mrs.----- Vangrit also attended school in the same Old Field Schoolhouse where John was student. This was near Pleasant Valley. John worked as a clerk in his early years to John Boyd at Boyd's Tavern then at Everettsville. Any leads or information on Fitz Mountain, Clover Fields, Pleasant Valley, Boyd's Tavern and Everettsville would certainly be appreciated. 3. George Crank Omohundro, Sr. born 1810 in Fluvanna County and reared on a from near Hunter's Lodge - died 1890 and also buried near Keswick near his farm. (Mary C. was George's oldest child and married George Peyton. These last two are both buried at Thorn Rose Cemetery in Staunton.) George Omohundro worked as a clerk at Boyd's Tavern Hotel on Three Chop Road, then the pike from Richmond to Charlottesville and probably is the same Boyd's Tavern mentioned in 2 above. In 1849 he went to Charlottesville and ran the Jefferson House. Later he built the Central Hotel a relic which stood for a long time at the C&O Depot in Charlottesville. He bought a 600 acre estate at the foot of Monticello Mountain called Moore's Brook from William Farish in 1853 and built a home there. He later lost this and moved to Keswick where he died. Would appreciate any leads or information on the above mentioned folks and places. 4. There is a Park Hill in Albemarle County the ancestral home of Henry Peyton. Henry and his wife Lucinda Farrish of Albemarle County are also buried at Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton. Would be most interested if anyone knows about Park Hill. Much thanks in advance for any help anyone might be able to give. Best regards, John Tallman Lookout Mountain, Tennessee
