Hello Everyone, I am new to the List but I have worked on genealogy for a long time! I am searching for the parents of my gggg-gfather, William Burks, Sr. He was born in Albemarle or Bedford Co., Virginia. He died in 1845 in Henry Co., Georgia. In 1765, he married Lurena "Lenora" Harris in Orange Co., North Carolina. Their children were David, John, William Jr. b. 1780 - d. 1857 Newton Co., GA (my ggg-gf), Robert and Elisha Burks. David changed the spelling of his name to Burke. Can someone shed some light on this elusive ancestor? Thank you, Shirley
