    1. [VAALBEMA] Re:Graves & Spears
    2. Could someone tell me, how I might obtain a document of marriage on John Spears and Anna Graves. Married March 10,1811, by Rev Shephard in Albemarie Co., Virginia I am taking this information from a application for pension that his wife applied for. He was in the War of 1812. I have those records. Thanks for any help. Mary

    3. Mary - their marriage is included in "Albemarle County, VA Marriages 1780-1853" p.295. This contains the information from the original. John SPEERS to Ann GRAVES, 3 March 1812 (Marriage Register 1806-68, fol.13), dau. of John GRAVES who gives his consent. Witnesses - WIlliam C. TURNER & William TURNER Sr., bondsman - William C. TURNER. The Albemarle County Courthouse would have the originals.
