    1. [VAALBEMA] WATSON, STATON, CLARK - DE, MD, VA, KY, TX
    2. My name is WILLIAM FRANCIS STATON. CATHERINE DOVE WATSON ( b. Little Rock AR,1856, d. 1926, Decatur TX ) was my maternal greadmother. Her father, Rev. PATRICK SAMUEL GIDEON WATSON (b. Pendleton County, KY, b 1816, d 1889, McGregor TX, had gone to AR as a missionary from KY Baptists. I have seen both of these grave sites, and my mother and her siblings provided personal information and documentation. I have seen a book by PSG Watson in at the Southwestern Baptist Seminary, Ft. Worth. His father was JOSEPH WATSON, (b. 1788, Maryland, d. 1812. PSG's father was PATRICK WATSON and Patrick's father was James Watson who migrated to the USA from Ireland after the Revolution. He died in Harrison County KY and the will book indicates he had accumulated an considerable estate by 1816-1817. PSG's wife was Catherine Anne Oldham, and Oldham County KY was named for her family. She married GEORGE WILLSON CLARK, and their first son was GEORGE WATSON CLARK of La Grange, Oldham County, KY. I do not know if Rootsweb or Ancestry permit large attachments, so to avoid being found "administratively incorret" I am not sending more than a dozen pages of documents. If you want DATES AND DOCUMENTS and send me your direct email address, I will gladly send yu what I have. I have not started on the WATSON genealogy, until I get further into my genealogy and the almost endless ways of spelling my name -- STATON/STAYTON/STANTON/STATEN/STADOM/SLATON/ SLAYTON. My cousin collected the present documentation to qualify for DAR, so she was required to document as much as necessary to be recognized. William Francis "Bill" Staton wfstaton10@aol.com
