I can't go to a library that has the out-of-state census records for awhile, & was wondering if anyone has access to the 1820 Albemarle census. I have a 1810 Albemarle census for a Wm. SIMPSON that could be the father of my John SIMPSON, & would like to know if this Wm. SIMPSON is still in Albemarle Cnty. 1820. 1810 census reading Wm. SIMPSON males 3= 26-45 ..........1= 16-26 ..........2= under 10 females 1= 26-45 ............ 1= 10-16 .............2= under 10 slaves 2 Thanks...Geraldine in Missouri
A search on ancestry.com yielded 14 William Simpsons in the 1820 census though none were in Albemarle County. -----Original Message----- From: G. Perhaps someone can look at p. 38, Albemarle Co. Fredericks Parish 1820 census and see if it looks like it could possibly be William Simpson and it may say, William Simpson, Jr. There is another legible Simpson on the sme page. I can't make up my mind if it is Simpson or not. Thanks Dee for the help. If no one comes forth with the 1820 readings, I will have to wait until I can get to the library to check page 38. I don't know if this William is the father of my John. All I know is that I am looking for his parents & I don't know their given names. According to census records my John was born 1800-1810 VA, married 1834 Albemarle Cnty., had a son born VA 1835, came to MO 1836, on the 1840 MO census died Oct. 1840 MO. Given names of his two sons are James, & William Leonard. ...Geraldine ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dee Randall" <deedovey@shentel.net> > Perhaps someone can look at p. 38, Albemarle Co.
