Hugh WALTON. Jim, Jesse Rice Walton b. 9 Jul 1790 Albemarle Co., d. 7 Jun 1875 Albemarle Co., m. 6 May 1816 Albemarle Co., VA Nancy Gentry d/o George Gentry. On the 1850 Albemarle Co. Census: George Gentry, age 90; and John Walton age 12, also listed in household, also Edward Walton, age 23. There is an earlier Jehu Walton, who was a contemporary of Thompson b. 1747 and Ison b. 1750 -- in fact I think he was older than either of them. I do not have any additonal info on the older Jehu. If you are looking for Jesse Rice Walton, there is info on the Walton chart on the Shiflet website: http://www.geocities.com/~jcrosswell/Walton/ Hope this has helped. 3. I don't know. JEHU is a given name that appears now and then in writing which I've seen in several states and in different families. In my own Hunt line my gr-gr uncle Jesse Hunt was listed as "Jehu" in Alabama Census of 1830. I thought Gehugh sounded like Jehu & written by someone who couldn't get it right in any event!
