Hello, I just thought I would pass this on; you probably already know this anyway, but I didn't because I had not ordered copies from the Albemarle County Clerk's office in quite some time. If you want to order copies of wills, deeds, etc., send your request to: Tonette J. Morris 501 East Jefferson Street Charlottesville, VA 22902 Her telephone number is: 804 972-4083. I wrote to the clerk's office a little over a week ago requesting copies of some old deeds. Today I received my letter back with a note from them that they have started charging $10.00 for search fee, and then you also have to pay for the copies. So, if you want to order copies, send a check for at least $10.00 and then I guess they will let you know how much the copies cost. Someone several years ago said that she sent a blank check made out to them with the notation: "not to exceed (blank) dollars", which is what I did. I thought I would pass this on in case someone wanted to order copies and didn't know how. I know that I didn't know how at one time. Have a great evening.
