Looking for information on the family of : Joseph Patterson and wife Mary who had a Deed dated 1788 in a land sale involving Major Dowel. It says in part: This Indenture was made 26th day of Feb 1788 between Joseph Paterson and Mary his wife of the county of Orange of the one part and Major Dowel of the county of Albemarle all in the state of VA. If anyone is doing research on this PATTERSON line, I would like to hear from you, as I believe that my ancestor William PATTERSON b. ca1780 Louisa Co.VA could possibly be their son.
