I just saw the following in the June 2002 edition of "The Virginia Genealogical Society Newsletter". It is a review for a new book. It may be of interest to you. I don't know the author and haven't seen the book. "Samuel Spencer of Virginia, Descendants, and Related Families: Beck, Bibb, Burnett, Graves, Mills, Purvis" by Spencer Winn Wilkinson. Published 2001. 422 pages, hardcover. $43 postpaid from author at 3300 Brokview Drive, Marietta, GA 30068 Review - This genealogy identifies five children of Samuel Spencer of Goochland County, Virginia and traces the som William Spencer to the present. Related families from Almbemarle, Amherst, Buckingham, and Nelson counties are also introduced. Spencer first appears in Goochland County court records in 1728; and by 1733 he patented 1,200 acres on both sides of the Fluvanna River [known as the James River today -rna]. Rob Ayres
