    1. Re: [VAALBEMA] Albermarle History By THE Rev.Woods ?????
    2. RLB
    3. It's an interesting book, but don't rely upon it as a sole source. While it's reputed to be a good source on the more prominent Albemarle counties, it's less reliable on the regular folks. Thanks to Woods, we looked for years for my gggg-grandfather's son of the same name, only to finally confirm that they were the same person. He had them listed as father and son. The later entries turned out to be the old man's second career. (In addition to his duties as a farmer/orchardist/husband/father, in his 50s he became a travelling Baptist preacher, performing numerous marriages in Albemarle and adjoining counties.) The mistake is understandable, but just as a lesson that Woods should not be relied upon without double-checking the original sources. Rosanna Bencoach

    3. The title is confusing because some book covers are different from title page. My records say: Rev. Edgar Woods History of Albemarle Co. (title page) Albemarle Co. in Virginia (cover) By the way LDS microfilm has an index to the book, written by Coddlington. The book itself has a minimal index. Joan, notice the correct spelling for Albemarle. Does anyone know if the book of Albermarle --{?} by Rev. So that I might do a book search if i know the correct info. Thanks, J Tanner
