Hello Pat Buber? Pat this is Bill Mozingo, I hope I got your name correct. I got your email at work asking me to email you but was unable to reply to your email address only to the list and I couldn't forward it home. Please respond to me at [email protected] Bill
Janet Thank you so much for the info. Richard and Littleberry Netherland were brothers and Jane Clairborne Netherland was their widowed sister in law. One of Richard's sons married Ann Virginia Lipscombe, daughter of Spotswood Lipscombe. Unknown if this is the same family because they got married after Richard and his family moved to TN. There are two mysteries I have been trying to solve for years. Maybe you can help me. I'm tyring to find more info about Richard's sister Mary "Polly" Netherland who married Edmund Hawkins, and Richard's brother John Netherland who married Mary Thurston. Is their any info on them? Again, thank you so much for your help. Karen in CA
There is a Remlik in Middlesex County just west of Urbanna. Rob
Hi Patti, perhaps, it's Renick?? is there a place with that name...or like you say it was his farm, who knows what it is today. Jackie [email protected]
Hi Patti, Thank you for your email. I don't really know ? my grandfather Philip Hardiman had a farm there...and died/buried?? there...am trying for a death certificate, have written to the state department twice now, keep sending my mail back with "wrong" County. I've never been back there and know little next to nothing about what county is where?? But appreciate your response, thanks again...I'll keep trying. Jackie [email protected]
Fellow Albemarle Researchers: It is confession time. I have been deleting all your Netherland posts without reading because the name rang no bells and I am subscribed on about 15 times too many lists. On the way home from work on the bus I was perusing the 1810 Powhatan Co VA census records in attempt to see some hitherto unknown connections for my Archibald Bolling Baugh, b. ca 1790 (who knows!), ? Prince George 1820, Amelia 1830, 1840 Lawrence/Dade Co MO. There are these NETHERLANDS on that 1810 Powhatan census so I hope this helps someone (and if this information has already been posted and widely discussed then please accept my apologies): Richard Netherland -- (big family here) three males under ten, two males 10-16, 1 male 26-45, 2 females under ten, two females 10-16, 1 female 16-26, a female 26-45 Littleberry Netherland -- one male 26-45, one female 26-45 Jane Netherland -- one male 16-25, one female 28-45 These three on the census list are in a cluster (ie only a Morris, Tunstill and Wilburn house hold separating them)..Jane the last is only SIX persons from my own gggg grandfather Rev. John Hyde Saunders( booted out of Wm and Mary College VA in 1760s for boyish pranks). There is a Lipscomb the other side of the Netherlands about 53n households...a family of my Elizabeth Saunders. And only five more households fromMartin BAUGH. Goodness. I should have been reading those posts!! I hope this helps someone....FYI I have the ENTIRE 1810 Powhatan Census,....um..it is not a particularly large. If you are missing someone, I would be happy to check surnames in the census. My best to you all. Janet Hunter

Jackie - checked my County/City list and could not find "Resnick". Are you sure it still exists? Could it be a location - like the name of a plantation? Sorry I couldn't help - maybe someone else will know. LOL Patti
Bill, Please contact me privately. Thanks. Pat Baber
Earl Yes, I have a copy of Sarah's will and the book you are talking about. It is called "The Ancestry and Decendents of Richard Netherland, Esq." written by Muriel Spoden of Kingsport, TN. I got the book last year and she said she only had about 5 of them left. She recently passed away. Her husbands name is Hal and he still lives in Kingsport. I don't have the address or phone number but I understand it is listed, if you would like to call him. Sarah's will is a little difficult to read since it has been cut off on the left margain, but I typed it up. I can't scan it because it is legal size, but if you would like a copy or the typed version let me know. Karen in CA
Hello. do you have the will on line that can be sent. I would like to have a copy. Thanks. Earl
I also have the Netherland connection through the Harris line. I have been told that there is a book out on the genealogy of the John Netherland line but as of yet have not located it. I would be interested in the will if you have it to send on line. Thanks. Earl H. May
For the Pemberton people. I don't know if this will help any but there is an old home in southern Maryland about 15 to 20 miles south of Annapolis named Pemberton. From all I could find out at the time was that it built by a man named Pemberton for his daughter, Anne Pemberton. It was built about the time of the Revolutionary War. The house is fascinating and I wanted to restore it but alas it was not to be. Annie
