Steve - You wrote: "Jacob BUSBY and Frances GLASS, daughter of David Glass, suriety Elisha Layne, witness James Busby. William Busby gives consent for Jacob. married 9 November 1815 by Rev. Lewis Chaudoin" Do the marriages of John GLASS/Clarissa LAYNE(1799) and Sally Glass/Clarbourne LAYNE(1808) relate to Elisha LAYNE? You also wrote: "David2 GLASS (John1) was born 27 May, 1769 in St.James Northam Parish, Goochland County, Virginia. He married Betsey MASSIE 23 December, 1791 in St. James Northam Parish, Goochland County, Virginia, daughter of William MASSIE and Frances ADAMS." Are you aware that it is likely Betsey MASSIE had a sister names Nancy MASSEY who married James GLASS in 1806? Somehow, I feel that MASSEY and LAYNE may be connected with my GLASS line, due to the above information and the fact that they were ALL from St. James Northam Parish in Goochland County. Unfortunately, I do not currently possess enough information to substantiate that connection. As for BISHOP and LANE, here are my only possibilities: George J. BISHOP married to Angie Senora Wilkerson Curtis Harris McLANE (b. abt 1932) married to Barbara Ann Padgett Dave Glass
To Karen in CA My name is Stella Woolfolk Williamson. I live in Baton Rouge. I am researching Richard Woolfolk b abt 1658, some say in Yorkshire, England. I own a book entitled The Barrow Family of Old Louisiana by William Barrow Floyd, who included an excerpt from a book by William F. Davis entitled The Genealogy of the Male Line of the Ancestors of Sowyel Woolfolk. If you would like to have the excerpt, which gives the children of Sowyel and Mary, please let me know. The only copy of the Davis book I have found is at the Allen County Public Library, and I understand that they do not circulate their books. I hope that this is some help to you. Stella W. Stella Thank you so much for the offer. I would love to have the excerpt. I show Mary Netherland Harris and Sowell Woolfolk but have nothing further on them. Looks like I have his name spelled wrong too. thank you again for the kind offer. Karen in CA

Hi there, I am not researching the Glass family, but there is a marriage of a sibling into that family. Martha "Patsy" Damron (d/o Michael Damron & Lucinda Thomas) married David Glass February 4, 1817 in Amherst Co., Va. I have in my notes that the left Virginia and went to Knox Co., Kentucky. If anyone has anything else on them, I'd like to see it. thanks, Debra , Debra
Looking for info on my great grandmother, Mary Alda Palmer. I have her death certificate. She was born Jan 15, 1890 in Staunton, Va. and died March 24, 1927 in Portsmouth, Va. Her parents were Samuel W Palmer and Mary ??. She married Virgil Lee Blackwell sometime around 1905, I do not know where. I do know that after they were married, that they lived in Albemarle County and their children were born there. I checked the Augusta Census 1850 and found a Samuel Palmer, 21 yrs old, living with, I assume, his father, William Palmer. I do not know if this is the correct Samuel Palmer or not. This is all I know so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Karan
