    3. Jackie, Picked up your posting on the list. I too am just beginning to research Confederate ancestors. Try posting your question on the [email protected] as it is a bigger list and I know that there are some individuals on it who are really quite good at tracing the Conferderate ancestors. 2. Carolyn Carroll
    3. Thank you all for the information on Thomas & Judith Maupin information. I do have one more question, and hopefully someone out there will know the answer to this, All my Cobb ancestors, starting with Fleming Cobb, Sr. born in Albemarle County, Virginia in 1767 have a son they named WADDY. Is there any marriages, wills, etc., where a WADDY married a Cobb 1710-1780?? Is there anyone out there researching this family? Thanks again

    2. April, perhaps this will help even more. This is from WFT vol. 1 # 5127. Your Tryee Harris, b 1728, is generation 3, right below 1882 in the left margin. 2. In reading thru your answer to an inquiry I was literally struck by one of the names you listed. It was that of Sarah Robards. I have a Sarah Robards in my line who married John Henry Dedman in 1868 so it is certainly not the same one but with the custom of naming that existed it seems likely there is a relationship. Anyone out there along these lines?

    1. [VAALBEMA-L] Searching for Delmer Early information
    2. Philip Crigger
    3. Hello, all. I am a new subscriber to the list as of yesterday. I am searching for information about Delmer Early, who was my great great grandfather from Charlottesville. My family has almost no information about him, other than the fact that they think he may have also been called "Jim." I have been to the Albe. Co. Historical Society for leads and spent a brief amount of time in the Albe. Co. Courthouse with records that were available. Any Early's out there who might be able to shed some light on this for me? Delmer's son, James S. Gregory, was born in 1884 in Pulaski or Carroll Co. (southwestern Virginia), so Delmer himself was probably born in the 1860's or before. Thanks in advance for any info. anyone wants to share.

    3. Gary... Off hand I'd have no clue about your CARVERs ...my interest & focus stops with adult children of Lawrence CARVER when his son Morgan migrated to KY in 1830. There is a large batch of early CARVER pioneers who settled in Albemarle Co. during the 1750+ period which I'm aware of but yet don't know where they come from ...must assume they're related to my branch but I haven't figured out how as of yet. If you're able to trace back within the time frame of my focus (1750-1830) drop me a line. Jim James F. Carver 610 Gay Street, Box 214 Portsmouth, Ohio 45662-0214 e-mail: [email protected]
