Some more miscellaneous notes from recent Mecklenburg VA/Granville NC trip. Will of Joshua Draper, St. James Parish, Mecklenburg Co., VA. Dated 3 March 1791, proved 9 January 1792. Witnessed by John Chamberlain, John Duncan, Martha Rudd, John Easter, and Clausel Clausel. Son-in-law David Hudson and daughter Mary Draper, executors. Legatees: Grandsons Joshua & Bryant Draper, sons of son Stephen Draper, 100 acres of land where son Stephen now lives, divided equally. Daughter mary Draper, plantation whereon I now live, 100 acres, and upon her death to grandson Thomas Draper. Daughter Sarah Draper. land on South side of Finnawood Road, 100 acres, and a featherbed. Granddaughter Susannah Draper, daughter of daughter Sarah Draper, a bed. Granddaughter 'whose name is unknown to me", daughter of my late daughter Judith SAMPSON. SON Stephen Draper, 20 shillings Remainder of estate, 1/3 to the four children of my son Stephen, who are Joshua, Bryant, Elizabeth and Mary Draper; 1/3 to daughter Mary Draper, and 1/3 to daughter Sarah Draper.
