    3. You are absolutely correct, Roland. Let me add that your words that you are seeking censues, "...as well as anything else that I can find" is SO important. Most researchers do not really know what else there is at the places - the courthouses, local archives, churches, schools - where their ancestors lived. Without knowing what records have survived there, research simply can not be complete. Let me illustrate: You VA researchers who are reading this, do you know what parishes covered the places where each of your ancestors lived? If you do know that, do you know and have you examined the parish registers and vestry minutes that yet remain for those parishes? If not, you have MUCH work to do before you conclude that the answers are not there. Genealogy without documentation is nothing.
