Moreover, he left her in the care of yet another child, Mary Black, who may well have been his by another mixed-race union. I have tried without luck to find those children. They're still in Southampton, with their Agatha on HER land as late as 1820--then no trace. Interesting in an era when few women owned land--Agatha Kersey, "other free," did!
