Janelle, what time frame are you discussing regarding the alleged marriage of John Woodson to a Sarah Winston? I have two Sarah Winstons in my DB, neither of whom was married to a Woodson as far as I know. My data shows Sarah Winston b. 1733 was married to Col. James Littlepage ]Rodney Veitschegger, [email protected], Bowling Green, KY, Winston, by Rodney Veitschegger. Anne Baker may have more reliable information on this marriage.], and Sarah Winston m. 1790 to Thomas Rutherford [Hanover County Historical Society, Old Homes of Hanover County, Virginia, Third Printing 1986 by Walsworth Publishing Company, Don Mills, Inc. Salem, WV 26426.., "Totomoi," p 56. "Thomas Garland Tinsley married second, Martha (Patsy) Rutherfoord (1803-1873) daughter of Col. Thomas Rutherfoord and his wife, Sarah Winston (1769-1839), daughter of Geddes Winston and Mary Jordan of Laurel Grove, Hanover County."] There was also a Sarah Winston who was married first to John Syme of Hanover Co. VA, and second to John Henry as stated in Barradall's Reports October Court MDCCXXVI (1736), Winston & Ux. ag't HENRY & Ux. Adm'x of SYME. (Thanks to Anne Baker for that transcript.)
