Paul, First of all: DON'T THROW IT AWAY!!! (1) Perhaps she could have some kind person transcribe it all to a website for the use of all who may be interested. (2) If she has a book already for one side of the family, she could "bury" that information she has and have the other side of the family with all the "cousin" marriages which are confusing recorded. (3) Leave it for her disinterested children to wade through. I suspect some descendant will come along who is interested in continuing her research someday. When my uncle, the "family genealogist" died, I got really interested in what he had done and continued it. I now have a young first cousin, once removed, who wants to take over where I leave off.
