    3. Let's see. Brunswick county was formed in 1720 from parts of Prince George county, Isle of Wight county and Surry county. Prince George was formed in 1703 from Charles City. Surry from James City, in 1652. Greensville county was formed in 1780 from Brunswick and Sussex counties. Sussex was formed from Surry in 1753. Halifax was formed in 1752 from Lunenberg county (which was formed in 1746 from Brunswick). I cannot pretend to know this off the top of my head. This information can easily be found at several web sites on Virginia county formation.
