In the earliest Patrick Co. Order Book the County Court worked to establish roads most leading to the new county seat. in 1792-93 one of these roads was created when the court directed a road from Samuel Corns [Corn's] path out of the Hollow Road to Hughes Road. The earliest map of the area that I have is 1821 and it shows a road from Hugh's Tanyard [near Hughesville] northwest to Russell Creek near Sam Corn's place.
