As reference, there is a transcription of "The Diary of 1825 by Dr. Thomas O'Dwyer which has been published by Liberty Press of Winton, NC. The publication is a wealth of genealogy, with the good doctor mentioning many of the Hertford County people by name (and illness.) It is a wonderful book, and gives a wonderful insight into the life of a country doctor, medications given, and some of the personal habits of the first generation Irish physician. I would recommend it highly as a resource, both because of its content and the proximity of Hertford Co., NC to Southside VA. B. Chandler
