Good evening, In cleaning house, A Press of Greenville, S.C., found two boxes of my Halifax Co., Va., cemetery books (published in 1984-85). Judging from the tattered state of the copies at the Halifax and South Boston public libraries, many of you know these books already. They have been more or less out of print for some years. I have just received the books from A Press and will sell the remaining copies on a first-come, first-serve basis. The price will be $18 each postpaid, or $32 for both. Send checks to G.C. Waldrep III, 7230 Strawberry Road, Summerfield, NC 27358. Inquiries via e-mail OK, though I'm afraid I can't "reserve" copies in advance of payment. As of this moment I have 7 copies of volume 1 and 52 copies of volume 2. I'll take this opportunity to thank all of you who have gone to the effort to locate me these past few years--since I left South Boston--and tell me how much these books helped in your research. I enjoyed compiling them and only wish someone would work on a third volume. About half the African-American cemeteries in Halifax remain uncatalogued, as well as several dozen family cemeteries, especially in the county's northwestern quadrant. Since I no longer live in the county, I'm afraid I won't be the one to complete this important work. Best wishes to all. G.C.
