I was asked just now what I meant when I said that legal dictionaries are "very general in nature." An example will serve: Look up the word "genealogist" in any high quality, unabridged dictionary of English. It will be apparent that what we all do is MUCH more than there explained. So too with a legal dictionary; the definitions almost never reveal the full content and meaning of the terms. Still though, as said, such dictionaries are a good starting place for answers.
