The earliest birth records for Charlotte Co. seems to be 1860-1896, then there is a gap, and they start up again around 1911 or 1912. Federal law by then. These early births are on ancestry.com. If you are not a member, I'd be glad to look in them for you. It was not required to register births, and I think (without being positive) that births were registered if a doctor participated in the delivery. So people who just had their babies at home without doctors might not be there. Susan Jones
