Hello List, I just recently rejoined this list as I found several voids in my research which needed some attention. My reason for returning was that I found such an intensity of interest in the history of the places and people who have lived and been a part of the life of southside Virgina and northern North Carolina. We have all benefited from each others' efforts, and we have shared in the contributions made to this list. Paul and Cash certainly represent many of us, in their concern for accuracy and thoroughness in genealogical and historical research. The early farmers who tossed their grains up to the wind to remove the chaft from the main kernels, should give us an example to follow when we pursue sharing ideas on this list. Take what is good, and let the rest pass on the wind, and move on with our work. Paul and Cash have both served us well, and hopefully will continue to do so, as many others have done on this list, through their deligent research, by the seat of their britches, in the archival halls, the clerk of court offices, and other repositories of genealogical and historical information, and have passed this effort along for many to share. My feelings are that we do not pit one person against another over petty issues, but remember what we are all about here, and support everyone for their contributions to this list, and to the establishment of as true a picture of our people and their history as we can. Please, let's get on with our good work. Best regards, John Fox Winston-Salem, NC
