The letter mentioned the fellows going to the Yadkin from Va. I live in Forsyth Co., NC (Winston Salem) about 5 miles from the Yadkin River. Of course it is a long river but they walked/rode a "purty piece" from Va! then back again.

According to one account, a group of men rode from Culpeper co., Va.. to where Daniel Boone lived on the Yadkin and he went with them to look at land in Florida, he decided to not take the land offered down there and came back and later moved across the Blue Ridge to the Clinch river area of southwest Va...Now That's a Furr Piece!! >>The letter mentioned the fellows going to the Yadkin from Va.
