An amendment known as the "Grandfather Clause was passed in North Carolina 8/2/1900. A person registering to vote could prove literacy or state that he, his father or grandfather had voted on or before January 1, 1867. I have only a partial list and I would like to have a complete list. My list is for Halifax Co, townships of Butterwood & Faucett. I need Brinkleyville & Littleton. There are over a 100 names on my list with the ages of individuals with his father's age or grandfather's age. A good tool for genealogy.
