My gr grandfather, Hamlin R. COLLINS, was born in 1805. I can trace a Hamlin COLLINS to Brunswick Co, Maherin Parish, in 1830 with a family. In 1840 I think this family moved to Halifax Co NC. I cannot trace them in 1850. Hamlin R. COLLINS married Rebecca POWERS in July 1856 in Halifax Co. NC. My grandfather would have been about 50 years old & men usually didn't wait that long to marry for the first time! I think something happened to his first wife and the children were grown when he married Rebecca. Can anyone help me with a first marriage for Hamlin R. COLLINS or any other information? Thank you.
