On page 61 of Ancestors Along the James by Billie Redding Lewis, Judith Martin married (1) Thomas Gevaudon, sometimes seen as Gefferdon and Jefferson, a family who married into the ancestral Robinson family. Thomas Gevaudon died in 1730/1 and the following year, sometime between October, 1731 and 1732, Judith married Rene Chastain. Issue from first marriage, John Jeffedon (as spelled in his grandfather Martin's will.) All of these families were of French Huguenot descent. On page 119, we find that Judith Chastain and husband Rene Chastain Sr. moved to that part of Albemarle Co. that became Buckingham Co. Early Buckingham Co., VA Legal Papers on pg. 8, is an indenture (deed) dated 1785 between Isaiah Charoon of Buckingham Co. and Isham Miles. John Gevedeon was a witness.
