Does anyone have knowledge of a LAYTON family that was located near Boydton, Mecklenburg Co., VA in 1740-1800. There is a LAYTON Creek just west of Boydton that flows into Allen Creek and I'm thinking that this must have been named for a LAYTON person or family that was living there early-on.
