    1. [VA-SOUTHSIDE-L] Sifakis - Compendium of the Confederate Armies
    2. For anyone researching the War in Virginia, Sifakis' Compendium of the Confederate Armies is one of the best resources available. The set has been out of print for years, but the Virginia volume has just been reprinted by Willow Bend books. The other states will follow every other month or so. 3. I have the Virginia and North Carolina volumes, published in 1992. For looking up names, they are only good for the commanding officers. If you know what unit your ancestor served in, however, they tell you all the battles and assignments for that unit. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, November 19, 2003 6:49 PM Subject: [VA-SOUTHSIDE-L] Sifakis - Compendium of the Confederate Armies > For anyone researching the War in Virginia, Sifakis' Compendium of > the Confederate Armies is one of the best resources available.
