I just recently returned from a trip to Patrick County Court House. Having not been there in 3 years, I was surprised to find that records that I normally would have had access to are now restricted. I was so disappointment. One of the clerks in the office informed me that a privacy act was passed that restricted my access to records. Can anyone tell what was passed and what the restrictions are? Paul, are you there to explain. What I really wanted to get was copies of records of my grandfather's arrest in the 1920's. Those records are over 80 years old and grandfather has been deceased since 1958. What harm would it have done to allow me to look at them? Cynthia A.
